From 26 July through 12 August from 9:00 to 5:00 pm, the public is invited to watch internationally renowned bamboo artist and Ikebana master, Tetsunori Kawana, create Passages: Green Wall on the lawn of Mint Museum Randolph for the Mint Museum of Craft + Design's Project Ten Ten Ten. Kawana and community volunteers will create a 20 x 20 x 82 foot passageway constructed of straight and split Madake bamboo. The installation will provide a passage for visitors to travel through. Focusing on Japanese woven bamboo, over 70 beautiful pieces will be displayed in this installation, including baskets, screens, trays, containers, accessories, hand warmers, and a chair. Among the works on view are pieces by basket makers who have been designated Living National Treasures.
